Growth Groups

Growth Groups are not only an important part of connecting across our Church family, but they are also integral in growing together as we explore the Bible, how it applies to our lives, and how we can actively live out our faith. Here at Rockhampton Baptist, we have a wide range of Growth Groups designed to allow our Church family to build relationships and deepen their faith alongside people with similar experiences, in similar seasons of life, or with particular interests.

Young Adults

Our Young Adults meet each Tuesday evening from 7:00pm in the Youth and Young Adults room above our main Auditorium. The Young Adults age bracket spans from school leavers through to those who haven’t yet turned 30. This ministry provides a great opportunity for building deeper connection and developing faith together. Rockhampton Baptist’s Young Adults enables those with a developed faith to continue to grow, but it is also a great place to ask questions to build or reinforce strong foundations in God’s plan for our lives, what Jesus has done for us, and how the Holy Spirit equips us each day. The Young Adults crew also enjoy regular social events together, build fun and laughter into the ministry wherever possible, and are deliberate in welcoming new people along to their community.

Women’s and Men’s Ministry

Rockhampton Baptist’s Women’s and Men’s ministries are active throughout the year and provide an opportunity for our Church family to connect, build relationships, and care for one another. There are normally 4-6 Women’s ministry events throughout the year and they have ranged from Coffee and Dessert Nights, to Café Breakfast and Riverside Walks, and Deep Dives with a Guest Speaker. Men’s ministry events are also scheduled throughout the year and have included Campfire Yarns, Shed Nights, and more practical activities like helping with a specific need or project.  These ministry events are designed to encourage and build community across the women and the men of our Church, and there is always a sense of excitement when the next upcoming event is announced.

Equip

The equip ministry operates of a Sunday evening, normally from 6:00pm in the Function Room of the main building. Equip is a short-course training and discipleship ministry aimed at building capabilities, deepening faith through unpacking Biblical truths, and enhancing ministry skills. Short-courses as part of this ministry are delivered across 2 – 6 weeks (depending on the topic), with participants welcomed from the Church family, other Churches across Rockhampton, and the wider community. Most commonly these courses are presented by Craig, Dan, or Chambo (our Pastoral Team), however on occasions we have had Guest Presenters share their expertise or insight on a particular topic. The equip ministry has been running for multiple years now and is proven to be a great tool in growing and encouraging our community in their journey.

Craft, Omega, and KYB

Another group of ministries that take place in the Function Room here at Rockhampton Baptist each week throughout the year includes Know Your Bible (Christian Women Communicating International), Omega, and Ladies Craft. These ministries centre on the importance of care through connection and community, and how these elements are the foundation for building relationships and having spiritual conversations. Know Your Bible is a ladies group who meets of a Tuesday at 1:30pm to methodically walk through and explore the Bible in order to gain a greater appreciation and understanding of Scripture and its context. Omega meets from 10:00am of a Wednesday and is a Seniors ministry for men and women who are enjoying retirement and want to remain engaged and connected with like-minded peers. Ladies Craft is on from 9:00am of a Thursday and welcomes women of all ages who have a particular interest in getting crafty – either by bringing along their own project, or by learning some new skills from the great bunch a ladies who come along each week.
