Following Jesus. Making Disciples. Building Relationships
Life Groups
Life is better when you’re connected—when you have a place to belong and people whowalk with you through the everyday challenges of life. At Rocky Baptist, we’re a largechurch that deeply values belonging, and we believe our Life Groups are where this trulycomes to life.
In a Life Group, you’ll have the opportunity to engage with Scripture more deeply, explore how it speaks into your own story, and discern practical steps as you follow
God’s call on your life. You’ll also experience the gift of praying with others and being prayed for—through seasons of joy and moments of struggle.

- Small children play on the carpet during the church service.
- Parents are in the cry room meeting the needs of their children while still enjoying the service.
- Children are engaged in a fun program for children aged between 2-5 yrs of age.
- Bigger kids join the fun packed program upstairs for prep to grade six.
- And… we have over 20 volunteers doing Kids Hope in our local state school plus we run a brekkie club twice per week at the same school.
- We are also gearing up for a new staff member to join our team focused on children.
Youth
We love our teens too with lots of things going on to support them. At our church, with over 40 high school age youth, there is curiosity, investigation, fun, and mischief everywhere.
- You will find our youth are engaged in our Sunday services,
- Fun, laughter, and learning is the vibe at Sunday Youth fortnightly,
- Friday Night Youth is a growing space with games, social hangouts, worship, and small groups.
- Girls and Boys Life Groups run for our Youth to dig a bit deeper and find more intimate friendships,
- We invest heavily into this age group and have a Youth Pastor on our staff team.

More
We also have other groups tailored to special interests. Omega is focused on over 60’s. Craft is focused on women who love being crafty. We also do special focus stuff targeting women and men.
Care Team
People are at the centre of how we use our resources. We strive to care for our peoplewell and are responsive to the needs of people around us as we are made aware of them.
We have several pastors on our team with various degrees of skills and qualifications. Chances are, if you need some help, there’s someone that can assist or we know where to get help.
We also have a growing army of volunteers who provide care to people in and out of ourchurch community. We offer training and support for our carers who can assist in timesof need.
Some of the ways we demonstrate care to a broken world and hurting people include:
- Responding to calls and emails seeking help, support, or spiritual direction,
- Listening to, encouraging, and praying for customers in our Christian bookshop,
- Supporting people who are part of our groups – Life Groups, Omega (60’s+), Ladies Craft Group, Working Bees, Young Mum’s Group, over 150 volunteers, regular services at the Shalom Retirement Village, and so much more.
- We also have systems in place to assist with people’s material needs as the arise.
Outreach
We have an active footprint in the community with hundreds of volunteer hours investedinto and range of activities in our community. These include;
Chaplaincy — we support SU Chaplains in our state schools, we have a chaplain onstaff who works with Carinity Education, one of our Elder’s is employed by Carinity inAged Care, and we also employ the Police Chaplain for the Central Region for QPS.
Kids Hope — we have over 20 volunteers providing one on one mentoring and supportto students at Glenmore State School. We also run a brekkie club twice a week in thesame school. This provides opportunity to provide wholistic support that meets theneeds of students in the school.
Shalom Retirement Village — we run regular services at the Shalom for the residents.
Coffee Van Ministry — this is an outreach initiative of our church that provides conversational connections with people in the public sphere.
Community Lunches — we hold regular bi-monthly family time around food. This is a great opportunity for those who attend our church to form deeper connections with
others in our Christian family.
Life Groups — since we are a larger church, it can be easy to get lost in the crowd. We genuinely care for everyone and try to keep in touch. The best way for form deeper relationship and enhance belonging is by participating in a Life Group. These are simply smaller groups of people, usually 6-12, who meet regularly to do life together, read the bible, pray, and love on each other.
Missionaries — we budget tens of thousands of dollars to supporting missionaries who have given up their lives in Australia to serve the global church. We love being part of this bigger cause.
Baptist World Aid — we give tens of thousands of dollars through Baptist World Aid to help meet humanitarian needs globally. We are enthusiastic about being authentic Jesus followers.
